In 25.10.31 on Windows 10, the Stereo Enhancer filter turns the audio into loud noise. I noticed it on a project that worked fine in 25.05.11 but is unlistenable in 25.10.31. I then did a quick test project with one track with one video clip, added the stereo enhancer with its default settings, and the audio peak meter looks like this the whole time:
Even putting a Gain/Volume filter in front of it, set to -70 dB and/or lowering the stereo enhancer’s output gain to its minimum (-16 dB) barely made a difference. Selecting either L or R as the source, rather than the default L+R, makes no difference. Disable or remove the stereo enhancer and all is well; re-enable or re-add it and the problem returns.
Another note on the stereo enhancer: even when it worked, it was out of balance - the default setting says the left and right gains are both 0, yet the left channel always came out a few dB louder (working from footage with the same audio in both channels due to use of a mono mic).
