During the export phase of a completed project, can I start on a new project before the export phase has ended ?
In other words, can I save the old project, click “new”, clear the timeline, and then open files for a new project?
Yes you can.
And you can even start exporting the second project if you finish it before the first one is done exporting. It will be placed in queue (pending).

You can also open a new instance of Shotcut and work on 2 projects at the same time if you want. This way you can actually export 2 projects at the same time.
