Slight PC Fan Buzzing Sound Removal

Hi,

I recorded a few videos I was talking on and I can hear the sound in the background of my PC fan buzzing, albeit, only slightly. I could use the video as is, but would love to somehow dull the fan sound out if possible. Just wondering what ideas people may have on the best filter to use for that please?

Thanks so much.

Ray

I think you’ll find people actually recommend exporting the sound, remove background noise in Audacity, export and re-import in Shotcut. If you search on YouTube that’s what people do (I’ve done it too, specifically to remove computer fan noise, and it worked wonders)

A very narrow bandpass filter centred on the fan frequency will do it. It may however affect dialogue or music if that frequency is present in them.

Thank you. I used a narrow bandpass filter and it cleaned it up a bit.

You may find there are some harmonics at multiples of the fan frequency that can also be notched out.
