There is a thread in which it is claimed this issue is fixed, but trying today, it clearly is not - the SPR filter zoom in always moves to the left, and I have wasted way too much time already trying to fix this damn thing.

It is fixed for the next release. Which is not released yet.
As a workaround, you can use the fit or distort size modes.

Unfortunately none of those options on the SPR filter fixes it… but I did manage to eventually find some “workaround”, basically save a preset zoomed in to where you want, on a file that doesn’t have the bug, then use the preset in the bugged file.
Another workaround is to choose a Video Mode with square pixels - like 1080p HD.
