ShotCut on my (Arm) ChromeBook

You must use the English language in a bug report. If you do not speak English please use a translation service instead of trying your best to write English. Thank you

  • What is your operating system? Chromebook Linux app (arm) installed via flatpak

(If you are using Linux, you must state how you installed Shotcut as there are too many builds and packages. In general, we do not make the build installed by your distribution package manager unless it installs the Snap. The developers only build, test, run, and support the builds shown on our download page.)

  • What is your Shotcut version (see Help > About Shotcut)? 25.08.16

  • Can you repeat the problem? If so, what are the steps? Launching from app icon or via flatpak run command (flatpak run org.shotcut.Shotcut)

(Please be specific and use the names as seen in Shotcut, preferably English. Include a screenshot or screen recording if you can. Also, you can attach logs from either View > Application Log or right-click a job and choose View Log.)

After searching online I found the only way I can get ShotCut to run on my device (Lenovo Duet Chromebook running Snapdragon 7c) is to use the following command which I understand disables some of the dispay software??

flatpak run --socket=x11 --nosocket=wayland org.shotcut.Shotcut

If I do not use the two special optional commands switches then I get the following output in the terminal.

libDeckLinkAPI.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Is there lilkely to be a version of SC which works without the fix? I love SC so much that I am considering getting a better (Kompanio 883 CPU) chromebook but I guess given that it is also ARM the problem will persist?

If there is any other information I could provide which can help the developers I would be most happy to do that.

Many thanks for making a wonderful video editing application.

Cheers

Karl
