Apologies if categorization is wrong, will change it as per suggestions. Also first time posting although been using this software for past 2 years without any issue, appreciate all the work and time given to this, thank you. I did check other posts before posting but was not able to find anyone with this issue.
I had been working in older versions of Shotcut in my older laptop, been fine but slow due to my old age laptop, so I finally bought a new laptop Acer nitro v15 with 32 GB ram, RTX 4050 8 GB last month. I downloaded Shotcut version 25.05.11 which was the latest one last month and it was working and closing all fine.
When a new update came, I downloaded and installed it, and this issue started, the app works fine, but as soon as I try to close it regardless of a project open or with no project or any file, it freezes and after 10-15 seconds it goes in not responding mode. It does close on its own but after few minutes, so I had been closing it through task manager. I thought perhaps a new update will come and fix it but it seems all the updated versions I face the same issue.
So I checked all the downloaded installers for Shotcut in my Laptop, shotcut-win64-250511.exe the first installer I got in this new laptop is only one working fine for me [ the app closes normally] but newer versions such as shotcut-win64-250726.exe and shotcut-win64-250816.exe go on not responding.
I am not really sure where the fix lies, in my system or the app. Open to any suggestions, appreciate any help. Thank you
