Shotcut-macos-250816.dmg doesn't open

I checked FAQ and top posts and searched for my issue but couldn’t find any answer. Hence this post.
I downloaded the above for my Mac (macOS 15.5) today. New user. When I try open it, macOS says can’t verify the file and blocks opening it. It says can open after 1 hour by overriding the above message but warns against it as it may allow malware.
What should I do?

The app is signed, notarized, and those tasks are checked with a tool that also passes;but Apple is not telling us why they are showing this. Here is the workaround

I cannot fix this because Apple will not tell me what is the problem even after I run their verification tests that pass. You need to work around the problem. After you try to and it says this, you need to Go to Systems Settings > Privacy & Security Scroll down near the bottom to the Security section Click Open Anyway next to Shotcut Then, it gives you another warning dialog. Click Open Anyway Finally, it asks for your password or touch ID.

Thanks. I didn’t find this at first in this forum despite searching, but found exactly the same answer in Google search (AI overview) and followed the instructions. Got it going.
