I sometimes have trouble with shotcut and so the logfile is very helpful.
But this file is very hard to find in ubuntu. But in shotcut, the file can be opened with a menu entry. But after each start, the file is created new. So the old crash information is lost.
So my suggestions are:
- Logfile should contain timestamps for each line, so that it is easier to see what happened on which time.
- Logfile should not be overwritten on each start. Shotcut should add lines at the end, or create new logfile for each day / start etc.
- Perhaps an setting can be added so that user can decide if he wants a new logfile every start or wants to add to old file.
This would help many new users to post their problems! And help the developers to use the information.
At the moment a lot of debug information is lost.
