All right folks, - here’s something special I guess.
This SHOTCUT project contains no film clips, no image files and no audio files!
Only a font in the system font folder “CBM.ttf” is accessed for the text, which should be installed.
IMPORTANT: I have created it under the SHOTCUT version 20.04.12!
Whether it also runs in higher versions, I cannot say for sure.
My idea was ONLY to make a movie with the SHOTCUT effects to show what this program is capable of and that in a total size of only 0.9 Megabyte.
For this demonstration film, which shows the optical flair and character of a Commodore C-64 home computer, I used the following effects (unfortunately SHOTCUT has only one sine tone as oscillator):
*** Notes on the ‘picture effects’:
The “PONG” machine cabinet is pure HTML code.
The background is a ‘plasma’ effect in SHOTCUT.
The “ATARI” logo is with cropping: Rectangle and circle created.
*** Notes on the ‘sound effects’:
Keyframes: 2-frame-step pitch effect in the clip with keyframes in the Timeline track to increase and decrease the pitch.
Many hours of work and creativity went into this project, especially the keyframing for the sound effects, which are partly ‘interlaced’.
Nice computer, but can it run Crysis at max settings?
Really though, this is very creative, and using the oscillator for audio was brilliant. Either you have an insane amount of free time, or you’re putting quarantine to good use.
The engine (in your install) also includes an oscillator with sine, triangle, square, or saw. We simply have not added a UI for it yet. Unfortunately, the UIs for generators (Open Other) are in C++ and QML is not available.
You should be able to drag and drop the file into your publishing window
(You can also upload the file by clicking the Upload icon on the top toolbar in publishing editor)
Here an example as @Sauron packs a project in a compressed file.
BUT:
There was one glitch I had to correct when I rendered the entire film.
The tracks A1 and V12 are shifted in the editor and should be synchronous from 00:01:21:22.
In the preview and partial renders from this point on, this also works - just not when I render the whole project!
Maybe a bug?
Have fun exploring and watching the structure of the project! SHOTCUT_Pong64.zip (64.3 KB)
Amazing, thank you for sharing! I had a look, but it’s too much for me
I think I have to follow a couple of your tutorials first
Ps there where some hardcoded paths in the project which couldn’t be found, I could fix them quite easy. Thanks again.
