Shotcut freezes when rendering in Linux

Hello,

I have created a video using Shotcut on Linux Mint on my Toshiba laptop. Its an aold laptop.
I tried to render the output video but Shotcut froze and the whole system is stuck.
Its only a 4 minutes video with 2 videos and 2 MP3.
Is this normal? The laptop has 8gb of Ram and an Intel Core i3 processor.

check log file … probably out of memory …

It will open a explore file window… check log file

try to reboot and start again

Before doing any type of video rendering on a system with limited RAM, try and remember to close and reopen shotcut before starting that particular process. No reboot necessary, just a simple close and reopen will usually do the trick.

There is also a possibility to render the video when the GUI is closed.
