Shotcut doesn't open

I downloaded and installed Shotcut (three times now, in fact). It downloads and installs no problem, and the Shotcut icon displays in my desktop menu. But when I click on it to open the software, it gives me a “This application cannot be opened on this equipment”.
I’m using Windows 10 on a PC, with plenty of available memory.
Can anyone suggest possible reasons why this is happening?
Again, the software downloads and installs perfectly. It just doesn’t open.

I have never seen that particular message ever, (it turns out, neither has google) but I have seen similar messages.

The message is in Spanish (I’m in Spain). I translated. The actual message I see when I try to open Shotcut is: “No se puede exejutar esta aplicación en el equipo.”
