Shotcut Credit Roll Cuts Off - Fixed

Only found one post on this topic which was closed and couldn’t find this answered anywhere else on the forum – but I figured it out so though I’d share:

On timeline make your colored square (Open Other / Color).
For me I have an additional image behind my text and I wanted the text to roll with a grayish hugh so I made my square filter Opacity / 70%… but most people use black.

So then:

Go to F for filter
Go to T for text
Go to Text: Rich

Do NOT add the Scroll UP up filter yet…

  1. Add your text…
  2. Adjust font and text box size to where you want it to start…
  3. Now go to almost the end of clip…
  4. Gently drag the bottom text box down to include your text…
  5. Go back to beginning and click Filter / Scroll UP.
  6. Watch to make sure it’s sized and where you want it to end.

If it isn’t how you want it, click Filter/Default to go back to text settings and adjust as you’d like…

You will see the “filtered” view but you can release the strip by clicking to the left of the tracks where it says “output”…

Then run again to make sure you like…

Sorry… should also add:

4. When you gently drag your text box down there’ll be a button right in the middle of your text box so click on that to push the entire text box up as you drag the text box bottom border down…

Thanks

You could eliminate 1 or 2 filters from your workflow.

  • Instead of Size, Position & Rotate, click on the keyframe icon within the Text: Rich filter.
  • Instead of Opacity, click to change color, and adjust the Alpha channel.

You can also add your Hue color with the same filter.

In this example I have the timeline and keyframes closed, utilizing 25% Player Zoom.

Alpha channel: 0 = Transparency
Alpha channel: 255 (max) = No opacity
You can input a numeric value or scroll up/down. Click OK to see the change.

Thanks
