I just changed my system over to Linux Ubuntu 26.04.1, and installed Shotcut as a snap package version 26.9.27. I was trying to setup a different save file from the default, and it keeps crashing/closing. I even tried to “save as”, with the same outcome. Do you think the Flatpak version would be a better choice, or is this something that’s happening on both Flatpak and Snap?
Me too. I deleted the snap version and tried appimage versions. Shotcut crashes all the time, even when just clicking on ‘open file’. Tried other versions like 26.7.16, 26.8.1, 26.9.27, 26.9.6, 26.6.25, 26.6.1, 26.4.30, 26.4.6, 26.2.16 with the same result: Doesn’t work.
Version 25.12.31 didn’t crash, but has issues with exporting an edited video, just like version 25.12.30, 25.11.2, 250816. (I didn’t try any further.)
This can’t be caused by Shotcut. My guess is that something in the Linux operating system has changed (I’m using Xubuntu 26.04.1 LTS), and Shotcut can’t handle it because the programmers haven’t been informed (as usual).
