Shotcut crashes on start macOS

Hi All,

I recently (yesterday) moved over to Shotcut and created a project (90mins).
The source was from my Sony Handycam AVCHD format.
Everything went well, added title texts, transitions and exported the project - all went pretty smooth.

Today, I wanted to try a few more things, but Shotcut either crashes when opening the project, or even when I create a new one and try to view the timeline it crashes.

I’m running mac0S 10.13.6, 24GB RAM on a Mac Pro.
Crash reports are:
Crashed Thread: 0 Dispatch queue: com.apple.main-thread

Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGSEGV)
Exception Codes: KERN_INVALID_ADDRESS at 0x000000e1000000e0
Exception Note: EXC_CORPSE_NOTIFY

Termination Signal: Segmentation fault: 11
Termination Reason: Namespace SIGNAL, Code 0xb
Terminating Process: exc handler [0]

Tried deleting the app, re-downloading the image and installing, but still come up with the same issue.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks !

Sorry but I cannot reproduce this. You probably need to delete your settings (documented in FAQ.
/Library/Application Support/Meltytech/Shotcut/, where ‘~’ is your home directory.

thanks for the reply @shotcut
I deleted the preference file and still crashed on opening.
I held the option key while clicking the app and it opened.
Been using it for the past couple of hours, so far so good.
Fingers crossed as I’ve updated my movie and re-exporting.
