I was just trying to make a hype video for the upcoming Shotcut 26.9. Can you please share where I can improve, what I should do better, and what I should consider next time I try to do it? This video was entirely made in Shotcut 26.9 Beta.
Do not apply affects to any brand’s logo. I am referring to the blue glow; the logo already has a drop shadow. Other thing is that I think the image you show where the track headers are like a mixing console is not an effective illustration because A) every track is current (gold background) B) they are staggered and not aligned, and C) the meters are not showing any audio levels. Otherwise, I appreciate the promotion!
Never been a fan of portrait oriented videos, by aside from that I like it. ![]()
What text to speech generator (and voice) did you use? It sounds good.
Okay, I have updated the video and I removed the drop shadow.
The first point I think I understand, so I decided that having every single track highlighted looks confusing and unrealistic for a normal editing workflow. So I decided to fix that and deselect the selected audio.
Just to clarify on the staggered tracks: that was an intentional artistic choice rather than a UI representation. The idea was to visually symbolize how you can stack many tracks, but your main focus/anchor remains firmly on that primary top track. That said, I totally get why it might look confusing as an actual interface layout.
For the first trailer, I took a screenshot of the tracks and placed them, but I decided to change it and show it with the audio meters moving up and down so they can know it is working.

Are you planning to post this to any social media? Please share links if so.
This is how we introduce the adjustment layer in the upcoming version of Shotcut. @shotcut @MusicalBox @jonray
