Every time it crashes Shotcut. When I click the current video mode, when I click a new video mode up comes “Shotcut has stopped working, close program” This is completely repeatable as it is not random but every time. I am running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and I installed with all boxes ticked.
I reproduced it as well with an empty session (no project or clip opened). A workaround is to first open a clip or File > Open Other > Color and just leave it in the Source player - no need to add it to Playlist or Timeline, in fact that is not recommended when changing Video Mode. This will be fixed ASAP for v18.09.
