There are possibly hundreds of options you could add there. This is a very advanced part that is better left alone unless you are very experienced with codec parameters.
Not all codecs have such settings, other codecs have their own settings. For those who understand this, an opportunity has been created to take advantage of it.
Having read the article diagonally, I still don’t understand whether this somehow affects the image quality or only the compression quality. What does compression quality mean?
I think this can be implemented if the other work is done.
Both. It mainly affects export speed and it does this by skipping more very advanced prediction checks and many other things that take longer to analyze.
Your explanation only raises more questions. I don’t want to delve into this.
I read that there is a setting that allows you to simply copy the audio track without recoding. If this is really so, then you could make a checkbox for this, although such a setting was relevant 20 years ago, now ±5 megabytes will not play any role. Or make a setting to encode the audio track in maximum quality.
You were talking pretty offensively in the other thread to a beginner but now you are the beginner here. Should we start talking the same to you?
Also what are you even talking about? I answered your question directly about speed preset in codec details but now you are speaking about passthrough audio… If you have a different question than the one in this thread you should create a new thread with your particular issue.
Shotcut in general doesn’t passthrough anything except when using the Extract Sub-Clip option which simply does 1 section cut from the original file without applying any filter or change. Not many video editors do passthrough because any kind of edit or effect on the video and audio will require a re-encoding. - there are a few specialized tools that do exactly this, try Avidemux or Losslesscut (both free).
My native language is Russian, it is very different from English. Online translator does not always cope with translation.
I made suggestions so as not to open a new topic. Here is a quote.
"This command encodes a video with good quality, using slower preset to achieve better compression:
ffmpeg -i input -c:v libx264 -preset slow -crf 22 -c:a copy output.mkv
Note that in this example the audio stream of the input file is simply stream copied over to the output and not re-encoded.
If you are encoding a set of videos that are similar, apply the same settings to all the videos: this will ensure that they will all have similar quality.".trac.ffmpeg.org/wiki/Encode/H.264
Not a word about image quality, but it is written about copying the audio track.
He was not a newbie, as he was able to figure out a more complex program. If he deliberately behaves like a fool, then my attitude towards him will be negative. But even if that person has a mess in his head, then I clearly wrote the instructions, unlike the hypocrites who simply ignored this person.
