I find the “handle” to move the timeline very difficult to see in both the light and the dark themes. Suggest that it somehow be highlit better…if using the dark theme, make it white. Something to make it more user-friendly

Sorry, not possible without changing the color themes to add more contrast, which other people will complain about. We cannot make everyone happy all the time.
The same problem i see since using shotcut
Just to be clear, i was only suggesting that the scroll bar button that you grab to move the timeline have a colour option. Similar to how i can change the colour of my mouse pointer in windows.
Possibly click on the button, right mouse click “change colour” as an easy method for user to do this.
