How can I render video with my GPU?
I have an RTX 2080 SUPER inside of my computer, is it possible to render video using the GPU instead of the CPU?
In the Export menu there is a “Use hardware encoder” option. To the right of it there is a “Configure” button. Press the “Configure” button and in that new menu press “Detect” so that Shotcut can check if it can detect your GPU. If it does it will let you know if it found anything and it will automatically select it. Then all you have to do is check the box right next to “Use hardware encoder” to activate it.
If it doesn’t find anything then you can’t use the “Use hardware encoder” option. If you try to use it anyway even though Shotcut couldn’t detect anything your video will come out with audio but no video.
