I have 30 seconds of dead air in the middle of my 1 hour timeline.
I want to remove it and ripple all the tracks (I think?) but there isn’t anything there to remove.
I have tons of clips, so dragging each one by hand would be … work.
I am also worried that putting something there and removing it will remove other blanks (there are lots)
Get the latest version of Shotcut. Here.
Make a backup of your MLT.
Enable Ripple All Tracks and Ripple Trim and Drop. 
Drag the clip to close the gap.
Or remove the blank area to close the gap.
Thank you - I never knew there was a “remove” for blank space.
I also didn’t know that dragging clips would ripple like that.
