Remote Windows Desktop For ShotCut

For a few years now, I’ve gotten by on a Chromebook and cloud based SaaS platforms.

But I want to up my game, namely a) frequently do audiograms and b) do simple composites (half still and half talking avatar).

Are any Shotcut users working from a Remote/Virtual Windows Desktop. I’d appreciate some recommendations for virtual desktop provider(s) that are Shotcut friendly.

Thanks in advance for your read and response.

I’ve used AnyDesk for years. You don’t have to pay or even subscribe if you’re always only connecting to a single machine as if it’s your mum’s computer. It works flawlessly. Set it to unattended connection with a nice funky password and you’re good to go.

I have used TeamViewer, works fine. Never really considered any desk, probably because of the red color logo, I know, its not relevant to how safe it is. But I just feel the color red is danger, and use TeamViewer as it’s blue.

I do also remember using a remote desktop app, something that came with windows itself, don’t remember what it was.

I’ll give it a try. Not sure what you mean by “as if it’s your Mum’s computer”.

Wait, does that mean you actually load ShotCut on to your Mum’s computer and then you use Any desk to access that installation from your device?

So AD is NOT a virtual machine, where you can load SC there and NOT on your Mum’s computer?

I’m totally new to ShotCut, let me squeeze an SC question in here.

Can SC do avatar animations as seen with Hedra.AI? Or is SC solely video editing like in the space of Final Cut?

Shotcut does not include avatars or any AI other than Speech to Text. It is a desktop multitrack editor. Use the Features page on the web site to learn more.

Since you mentioned Chromebook (ChromeOS), which has Chrome Remote Desktop and Google Cloud Drive, see
