I previously watched james woo, now I am looking for a more updated tutorial on how to use shotcut, with all the newer features there are.
I would suggest checking out the Tutorial section for how-tos and tutorials. But also, what are you planning on using Shotcut for? I feel like oftentimes, it’s easier to just get started with the minimum you need to get going and learn more as you go.
Hi @chiraag , I have been a member here for a long time, I do know about the basics (and also some advanced stuff) of shotcut, but ever since I left video editing, there has been a lot more features in shotcut. Also, I have always had a problem with glaxninate from the beginning, my current plan is to edit home videos and slowly progress into editing some project videos. I just want to learn all new features, and it would be nice to find a playlist that has them.
The tutorial section is more useful for learning what you can do with those features than how to actually use them, plus the effort to scroll and know what you’re looking for.
By no means I am a newbie, but I am very new to the current features and changes.
Good day.
Hmm, then I honestly don’t know. One approach is perhaps to look at the changelogs and if you see features that stand out, searching on here (or on YouTube) for tutorials on using those features? Like, even in terms of just filters, there are so many video and audio filters that learning the ins-and-outs of each one isn’t really worth it unless I actually want to do something where one of them would be useful, right? And in that case I’d probably search on here or on YouTube for how to do whatever I want to do.
I think the other difficulty is that often deciding which features to use (and when) is an artistic matter, rather than something completely technical. I’m realizing this with audio mixing as well, where of course there are general rules for how to e.g. EQ male or female vocals, but the individual values for each cutoff will depend not only on the individual, but even on the song!
In terms of the glaxnimate problem, you might be able to get help by posting on here if it’s relevant (just a thought!).
James Woo has a Shotcut playlist on his YouTube channel where he’s regularly posting videos showing the latest Shotcut updates.
