Brand new here and with shotcut and video editing generally! I have looked around but can’t find instructions of how to record directly from my webcam to shotcut and then how to play it back again.

Basically you use Open Other followed by Audio/Video Device, when you have finished press the “Stop Recording” button, then use the Export tab to save your file.
Personally, I would not use Shotcut to record from my webcam. I use OBS Studio, but there are many other apps out there to do this.

It’s definitely possible, just try to first know shotcut yourself before making a guess on something you know nothing about. Have you ever opened the open other panel.
