Proxy is crashing my shotcut

Hi, I am using shotcut on windows 11. My version is 23.07.29
So what my issue is that every single time I create a proxy, it takes around 5 minutes to download but when the download ends, shotcut simply crashed.

Make proxy-> wait for download->Shotcut crashes

Do I need to download the new version?

I doubt the new version makes a difference, and I do not reproduce it. You wrote

every single time

If so I wonder why so many people use this feature and no one reports this. Or do you mean every time you try it on the same file in the same project?

What happens if you:

  1. quit Shotcut if it is running
  2. start Shotcut and do not open anything
  3. use File > Open and choose a different video file than your previous attempt
  4. choose Properties > Proxy > Make Proxy
  5. Wait for the proxy job to end. When it does Shotcut automatically switches the opened video file to the proxy.

Whenever I create a proxy it downloads and then when I try to open it my shotcut app stops responding. And this has been a real pain since I can’t edit my videos properly since they are so laggy.

What you are writing does not make sense, but maybe English is not your native language. You did not answer my question by following the steps I provided. I will not be able to help you.

Are you saving to some cloud storage? like onedrive? What do you mean by download?

Sometimes users can get frustrated and start to panic a little, and then they fail to even read instructions that will help them. It happens, so lets try again.
@KrainzSupreme , please follow the steps exactly as Dan outlined above. They are:

So does the above process succeed?
