Proxy Creation Fails Randomly with NVENC Enabled

Linux Mint DE6
Appimage 24.06.26

I imported a bunch of various videos, and to my dismay, watched as proxy failed was happening on over half of them. I tried several things before disabling HW Encoding for Proxy, and every clip succeeded in creating the proxy. I have no issues with hardware encoding on final renders, with no failures so far.
Hoping for this to be dealt with in the future.

Right click a failed job, get the log, and paste it here.

Sorry for my horribly late response. I ended up doing some distro hopping. No more issues with this, but I have a new post. Thank you for your response.

Just my own experience here with my own playing with FFMPEG to transode files using NVENC, but it seems to not like the ‘-crf’ flag (or support bframes on the older versions). This might just be because I still use GTX10 series since they have great x265 speeds but are just older with less supported features. Just conjecture and assumption here but I do see that the proxy creation job uses “-crf” to create the file so I wonder if that’s part of the issue.
