Hey everyone, how’s it going? I’m here to report a problem I’m having with version 26.4.30. I’m just starting to edit videos, and I decided to use Shotcut. Initially, I really liked the program, but unfortunately, I’ve encountered a very annoying bug… When I edit a video and turn on the proxy and export it, there’s an audio delay, I don’t know how many seconds, but there’s a delay. In the editor, it plays normally, but when I export the video and it comes back to the original resolution, it simply delays the music, and whenever I have to edit something that requires precise cuts with the music, I have to make this adjustment. Thank you very much for your attention, and I hope this problem is resolved soon because I love your program. Best regards.
Hi @Abner
It would help the developers if you’d tell what your operating system is.
Also:
- Is the audio embedded on your video file(s) or is it on a separate track?
- Did you get (and ignored) a message asking to convert any of your files to “Edit friendly”?
The problem is not the proxy because when you export it uses the original video, not the proxy. So, the problem is with the original. Since the proxy is not the original, using them can mask a problem with the original. What made the original videos? Are they variable frame rate? If you think there is a problem (you can test it alone outside of the project) then you might need to convert the original using Properties > Convert.
Sometimes, when using proxy, you need to turn if off during a review of everything before export.
