“Previous Zoom” feature

Hey Brian and Dan,

I have a request for a feature that would really enhance my workflow. I do a lot of fine-cut editing that requires zooming in deep to the timeline and then immediately needing to jump back to exactly where I was before.

I know we have “Zoom to Fit” (0), which is great, but I often find myself toggling between two specific views: a tight “detail” zoom for frame-accurate cuts and a “medium” zoom to see the surrounding clips.

Coming from a background in Xara Designer Pro, I’ve grown very reliant on their “Previous Zoom” feature. It would be an absolute boon to be able to hit a single key to “undo” the last zoom level change and toggle back to the previous one.

I’m a huge fan of the project (check your bank account :winking_face_with_tongue: ) and I know this is an open-source labour of love, so I truly appreciate all the time and effort you put into Shotcut alongside your day jobs. If this is something that could be implemented - perhaps as a simple shortcut like Alt+Z or similar - it would save a massive amount of repetitive mouse-scrolling for those of us doing high-detail work.

Thanks for everything you do!

Wow, well I guess that’s what old age does to you! Anyway, I hope you can find the time one day to incorporate it into Shotcut. :innocent:
