I was wondering if it´s possible to playback high quality videos without rendering or just in lower quality, so even my poor computer could manage to play them normally without freezing.

No. If your computer is too slow, you might need to limit the amount of filters and compositing (extra video tracks). Do not use the Timeline if you do not really need it. If you need to use filters, consider first working on clips only, to filter and improve them, and export each clip to a new file. Then, sequence and layer those files in Timeline.
