I’m using Shotcut to make music videos, and often resort to generated animations when the original footage is partially missing.
Milkdrop (from winamp, http://www.geisswerks.com/about_milkdrop.html), and it’s cross-platform re-implementation by Project M (https://github.com/projectM-visualizer/projectM) is one of these engines able to generate stunning visual effects based on the audio beat.
I’d love to be able to generate clips automatically in Shotcut based on the thousands of existing mildrop presets… without having to resort to my currently time-consuming and error-prone play > screen-recording > crop > sync workflow… that looses much of the video quality in frame dropped.
I can imagine quite a few situations where similar effects could be appreciated, from futuristic SciFi to movies trailers and more.
Thanks for your great work on Shotcut !
