Playlist as defailt

when you open shotcut don’t you think PLAYLIST should be default open on the left side instead of half the time having to go down and hit a tab before you can drag a file in

Why? Playlist is completely optional. Also, Shotcut remembers the state of its panels and window when you restart.

I often thought about this when starting a new project (ctrl+n) and when dragging files to the playlist suddenly realized it’s not there so have to activate it, grab the files again etc. But that’s just my point of view.

I am never going to force the playlist open and on top superseding saved layout. And you can drop on the player and timeline as well as playlist not to mention file open with multiple select. End of story. The workaround instead of hunting for the tab is to click the big playlist button in the main toolbar.
