Hi, I’m on windows 11 with the newest version (25.03.29) and my problem that keeps repeating is that whenever I move the playhead to a different position to try to view a different part of the track is that it takes about 20 seconds and goes back to the position it was before. For example, the playhead is at 12 seconds in and I move it to the beginning and press play. It takes a while to respond and then goes back to the 12 second mark and starts playing from there. Any tips?
Shotcut is failing to seek in your project. Can you share a screenshot of your screen showing the selected clip and properties panel? Maybe someone will see a clue.
Sorry I didn’t see this sooner. The problem where it goes back to it’s original position fixed itself, but it still takes like 20 seconds to start playing. Here’s the screenshot anyway.
Did you turn off Settings > Player > Realtime? I am not suggesting to do that; the default is on. Instead, I am suggesting that can make the startup of playback slower, but I have not experienced what you describe. Normally, it is less than a second for me on most of my systems and with most videos. You should also check that your Video Mode is what you expect and close to your main footage.
Unfortunately, I don’t see any clues in your screenshot.
You could also try uploading the application log in case there is a clue in there.
If this has been recorded with OBS, you could try Remuxing the MKV to MP4.
