PC shutting down when using Shotcut

  • Can you repeat the problem? If so, what are the steps? - It happens every time I try and add in an mp4 image that I want to resize, sometimes it can happen when I am trying to export the video, it appears to be random

Hi as I have indicated above I have been having lots of issues with shotcut either completely shutting my pc down or shutting the screen off with the tower remaining on but I end up having to reset anyway. This happens when exporting videos or adding in things to resize like mp4 files, currently its happening everytime I edit a video.

I have checked to see if my pc is overloading in terms of heat but max is around 63% when it crashes so not hot at all… I have tried proxing the videos down to 540p to see if that helps but doesn’t make a difference.

There is nothing we can do in Shotcut to improve or fix this. If it is not heat, it is a driver bug or physical memory error.
