I always get a bad experience when I cut audio and, using SNAP options, try to align them to video cuts. The errors are caused because the snap position, mainly considers the vertical time bar, which is always near the part that I’m Editing.
Of course, I would like to snap a contiguous audio , and the vertical timeline bar just disturbs the process.
Can I ask for the subject option? A checkbox to avoid the Snap function to consider the vertical time bar.
If I understand your suggestion… could a workaround be to just move the timeline playhead before you move the clip? There are keyboard shortcuts to quickly advance the playhead forward and backwards.
When I sync video with music, I put markers in timeline when the music change, so I have a visual timeline of the lenght of the video clips that must be placed.
In other situations, I have a clip that ends, and another that follows, but avoiding a black space in the middle. They must be tied togheter.
In both cases, the snap is disturbed by the timeline position, that I have to move away every time, and by the markers position, that I have to delete.
The process is boring. In my opinion the snap function should be worried to exactly connect to a previous clip in the same row of the timeline, or vertically aligned to other clips in different rows of the timeline…
