Hello, just from today, after an update of Shotcut (i use now 25.12.15) i cannot open XML MLT file as a clip from FILE menu, a operation i usually do every day.
I am not able to understand what cause this issue, can you help me ?
I just readed similar topic but is not help for me… I attach the MLT file wich cause issue but the issue COME ON ALL MLT FILE I TRY TO OPEN.

Thanks for your report. This is a bug that is a recent regression from a change to avoid crashing in some cases. I’m looking into it. I have not found a workaround yet.
Hello Brian, thanks… now i know you are studing the issue i am more relaxed.
This is fixed for the next version. I am undecided exactly when but soon, mid-January 2026 at the latest.

The workaround I previously mentioned is not actually working. I guess I was misled by my fix in development. In any case, now this is an urgent critical fix.

This was fixed in version 25.12.31
