Open-Dialog should have choices for "file type" combo box

On my linux systen, when I select “Open file”, there is a “file type” combo-box, which only has one entry “all files”. However, I would like to have more options here, especially to only should *.mlt files.

Is it a linux problem, or is it the same on other environments, also?

For Windows 10, Shotcut uses the Windows File Explorer.
It’s easy enough to sort/search though.

In GIMP (not a video editor) they have their own file dialog box.
No option to search for specific file name.

Libre Office uses Microsoft’s File Explorer, but has defined in a long obnoxious list file types it can open. 2020-05-06_05-25-42

Audacity is a really weird dialog box, in my opinion.
No option to search for specific file name.

If there was to be a list in the Open-Dialog, it would be one massive list of file types. Personally, I prefer the Windows File Explorer as opposed to the UI Open-Dialog with GIMP/Audacity because I can search for specific file names.

I do not like to open Explorer every time I want to add one file. A filter in the requester to show All files, Video files, image files, Project files would be nice, IMHO
