Hey guys, I am trying to create a fisheye effect but do not want it in the center of the video.
I can kind of hack it with the size/position filter but this often requires me to reduce the video’s resolution so that it stays within frame when I move it for the fisheye effect.
Is there another way that I can add a fisheye effect where the center of the effect is a position of my choosing?
Did you try out the position, size and rotate filter before and after the fish eye effect?
Before zoom with less than 100% and offset. Then the fish eye effect and on the end the pos, size & rotate filter with more than 100% zoom to zoom out the black borders.
I have, but unfortunately I see loss in resolution when this happens. Especially if I want the whole scene and to fisheye a specific object near the edges, I’d have to go down to like 30% size just to fit everything on screen and resizing it results in a loss of fidelity.
Losses in resolution are normal for any type re-scaling especially for these type of filters. If it only looks unsharp than a noise reduction filter in the beginning of the chain and a sharpening filter on the end could be beneficial.
If it looks like a up-scaled video it might be better to make a part project with higher resolution for this part. The part project should use the same export settings (except of the higher resolution) than the end project.
