No video with libx264 export

Attempting to use “Stock > YouTube” and “Stock > Default” with no settings changed
Have tried unchecking “Parallel processing”
Export will take 20-30 minutes and create a file that is 10s of MB that should be 100s of MB
MPEG-2 and HuffYUV both work

Does the same thing happen with the AppImage version of Shotcut?

I do not see a problem in the log output, and it works fine for me on Ubuntu 19.10. The AppImage build is the same as the snap. You can try to include more information such as the export Job’s XML and the mediainfo output of the file that was created.

That looks fine to me, and you have not really stated a problem. A file size smaller than you expect is not necessarily a problem. Of course, H.264 is going to me much smaller than MPEG-2 and especially HuffYUV.

I should have restated the problem in the post, but it’s in the title “No video with libx264 export”.

After a reboot, x264 export seems to be working now. I installed a few packages that I thought might be useful, libx264-dev being the only one I can remember. Are there dependencies that would affect x264 but not MPEG-2 and HuffYUV or is everything bundled with Shotcut?

Did you compile Shotcut yourself?

Everything is bundled. I would not expect you to be able to affect anything by installing packages with your package manager.

The only other difference I can think of is rebooting. Is a reboot typically required after install?
