So, I have a really big export file, that can’t be exported due to my laptops low power. I was wondering if I could send someone that has a more powerful PC the mlt file, so that they could export it. I’ve already tries many times to export it, but it keeps getting stuck around 50%, and it takes way too long to export.
also, any tips to help in the exporting process would help!
The difficulty is that you don’t only need to send the mlt file. It’s only the datas of your editing. You’ll also have to send the whole shots used in the editing, and that may be huge.
Can’t you rather ask a friend nearby who has a more powerful computer? There is a portable version of Shotcut, so you can put it with your raw shots and editing (mlt file) on a hard drive and do the job on your firend computer without installing anything on it.
It may be at a friend’s, a cybercafe, a “numeric space”, at work/office or anywhere else you can use a more powerful computer.
You’ll find the portable version in the download section or in portableapps.com(a convenient place to get many portable software with a convenient launcher).
I use Shotcut portable (and many, many other portable application). That prevents me from installing too much software on my computer that I use mainly for music production and has to remain as healthy and swift as possible. The only difference is a (much) longer time to launch the app.
