Mysteriously misplaced audio clips

I have worked on a video project with Shotcut for months without problems on my Windows 10 PC. Now, after the last shotcut update, when I open the file, I find all its several audio clips misplaced in the audio timelines. Some went a few seconds before the place where they should be, some several seconds before their correct place. I have immediately reverted back to the previous version of shotcut, but all audio clips remains identically misplaced. I have tried to uninstall and then reinstall with the “remove shotcut settings from registry” option, but nothing changes.
So, I tried to open the same project file on a friend’s computer and magically everything is back to normal on his computer, with all the audio clips in the right places.
This is puzzling. I would really like to continue using Shotcut on my computer, but besides the reinstalls I’ve already tried, I have no other ideas about what to attempt to make it work fine again as it did.
