My YouTube Music Videos

TimLau,

From watching some of Anne Rayburn’s videos it seems she has a whole production crew helping her.

My computer knowledge is limited… and at 71 years old, it gets a little harder every day! LOL I do appreciated your feedback, but I don’t want the video production to get so overwhelming that it starts to take away from my music.

I’ve only been working with Shotcut for a couple weeks, so it will probably take months, or maybe years before I have a firm grasps on how all this works. This is way more advanced than the simple “Picture in a Picture” videos I was doing in iMovie!

nice

Hi @ToddyK ,
Nice work, and great music. Well done!

@ToddyK , In case you you would like a quick way of adding a white border to your split videos, I just knocked up a sample border frame (black and white) overlay mask. Instructions below. Here’s the mask which I quickly made in Shotcut:

… and here it is overlaid on a frame from your video:

To apply it to your video, here’s how:

  1. Your video on V1,
  2. Border mask JPG on V2.
  3. Apply a Blend Mode (ADD) filter to the border mask.
    That’s it.

If you’d like a black border, use an “invert colours” filter, then use a Blend Mode (Multiply) filter:

Je suis d’accord, et si en plus on fait varier les dimensions et la position des différentes images on peut obtenir un résultat très sympa.
J’aime bien par exemple cette vidéo de 4 musiciens.
C’est un peu plus difficile à réaliser dans SC, mais c’est faisable.

I agree, and if you vary the size and position of the different images you can get a very nice result.
I like for example this video of 4 musicians.
It’s a bit more difficult to do in SC, but it’s doable.

You can do a lot of fun stuff, with Mask: Simple Shape and playing with the rotation

A quick and dirty test

C’est un bel exemple, mais où sont les bordures ?

This is a nice example, but where are the borders?

I’m also amazed, go see his YT channel, I dreamed in my youth to play drums and I can’t even coordinate my left hand with the right one … so if I have to add the feet :sunglasses:

I’ve been following “Sina-Drums” for a couple years! Her videos are awesome, but she has a whole production team helping her.

Here’s my latest version with a thick black border, and at the 3:45 mark I change to just my bass guitar and the drummer, since the lead guitar and rhythm guitars are not playing.

  • Adding a color clip, below each track.
  • Copy the mask from the video track to the color track
  • Use a SPR filter to offset or zoom the color clip after the mask i applied.
Using an elipse mask is harder to get nice, than the the rectangle ones

After starting this project about a month ago, I was finally able to make what I think is the final result. My friend who also plays guitar finally sent me his rhythm guitar video, so I was able to replace my Clone # 2 (bottom right) with his video. The black framing and the white framing at the 3:45 mark really enhance the look compared to my original video.

I’d like to thank everyone for their comments and suggestions for helping to improve the look of this video. You guys rock!
