My timeline media is missing

My operating system
Linux Mint Xfce, installed via the built-in software manager. Flatpak. Name: org.shotcut.Shotcut

My Shotcut version
23.12.15

Problem
My timeline media is missing.

I’ve tried View / Layout / Restore Default Layout and activating the timeline. The timeline is activated, just not showing any of my files.

Despite this, you can still view the playback. When the playback is viewed there is no audio, edits, or A-roll, it’s just raw B-roll.

My best guess is that while Shotcut was crashing, I may have saved my project, corrupting it, but I’m not sure.

The project in your screenshot is a “Playlist Only” project. When you push play in the player, it is playing the playlist clips in order. Some people don’t even realize that you can make a project using only the playlist.

If you had clips in your project before, they are gone now. I do not know how that can happen. But I hope you have been saving backups of your project. If you have not, consider using File > Backup and Save for your next project.
