For some reason this has happened where there is audio, but no video. My source tab shows a white screen with no audio, but the project tab shows a black screen with audio. This is the first time this has happened. Would it be something in my filters perhaps?
This is normal and by design. The timeline has a hidden black background track. When you place a clip with no video on a video track then it exposes the black background (same thing for gaps in the timeline). When you open a clip with no video in the Source player, it just happens to show white because this is the look of “no video” in the engine. You might think it is a little odd, and it is, but it is not a big deal and not a bug. Eventually, I may replace this display of white in the Source player for audio-only files with a waveform.
