Music from my CD keeps failing to upload to shortcut

Every time I try to upload from windows media player, the CD itself or create a desktop file for the song i want to import, Shortcut says it failed to import.

What I would do is export each track as a .wav file (or .mp3), then import into Shotcut via “Open File”. I use a great simple free program called Audiograbber to grab the files, but there are lots of alternatives…

I don’t know if this will help, but I have had no problems doing this.

  1. I have the Mp3 file in a folder or on my desktop.

  2. Drag and drop the Mp3 file into the Playlist window in Shotcut.

  3. From the Playlist drag and drop the mp3 file into the Timeline, or create an Audio Track in the Timeline and drag the Mp3 into that.

It works for me.

Shotcut will not open files from a CD. You need to convert it to wav mp3 aac or some audio format that SC supports.
