Hi @Urbanska,

It sounds like you’re experiencing an unexpected issue with dragging files from the playlist to the timeline. This can happen occasionally in Shotcut. Here are some things to try:

  1. Restart Shotcut completely
  2. Check your Shotcut version (Help > About Shotcut)
  3. Alternative methods to add clips:
    • Double-click the clip in the playlist
    • Drag the clip from the Source player
    • Use the toolbar buttons to add clips

If the problem persists, could you share:

  • Your Shotcut version
  • Operating system
  • A step-by-step description of what you’re doing when the drag fails

@shotcut might have additional insights into this specific issue.

Another mistake people make is that they are actually trying to drop into the Keyframes panel instead of the Timeline. They look similar and are usually tabbed together in the same location.

Finally, you can also use Playlist > menu-button > Add Selected to Timeline.
