Moving clips in the timeline

Moving clips with the keyboard is very simple. Just select a clip in the timeline (by clicking on it or just by clicking “D” while the playhead is over it). Hold down “cmd” (“alt” on PC) and click the “left” or “right” arrow on your keyboard to move it one frame

This is incorrect. You must be talking about some other program.

Regarding the originally reported use case and some others reported here, there is a way as of several versions ago: turn on Ripple image (Ctrl+R) on the Timeline toolbar. Then, if you drag a clip right it pushes all of the following clips or drag left and it pulls all of the following clips. If you need to keep things in sync across multiple tracks, in the Timeline toolbar menu, choose Ripple All Tracks (Ctrl+Alt+R).
