Hi I would like to make a trailer for my YT channel. I have a png mask in the shape of a car part that comes out of the phone screen at the end of the video but I would need to resize and reposition the mask as the car moves. I have applied the filters - Mask: From file and pasted the PNG image , Size, position and rotation, Mask: Apply. But I can’t track the movement of the car with the mask - is that even possible? Thank you in advance if someone more experienced could advise me. Here is a sample of how the clip should end.
Most likely, it is possible in After Effects. I open it about once a month, so I don’t remember exactly and I don’t remember what it’s called either. The algorithm is as follows: you need to merge the layers, then you need to select the correct blending mode, and then move these using the Transform filter. I suggested adding blending modes from After Effects in one of the threads. There is no mask from file filter, only this method works, but it is complicated.
The second option is to make a mask not a picture, but a video. Something like frame-by-frame animation, that’s what I do.
I made this (quickly) using Shotcut’s Mask: Draw (Glaxnimate)
Track V1: The rally car video
Track V2: A phone image with a blurred background created in Photoshop. I made the screen transparent.
I added the Mask: Draw (Glaxnimate) filter on the V2 image and drew the animated mask in Glaxnimate.
I only spent about 10 minutes to draw and animate the mask so to save time, I used only a few nodes. If I spent more time on it, the result would be much better.
This looks great
The question was how to animate a mask. Here the mask is a picture in png format. That is, there is an alpha channel or a black and white image. In Shortcut, this is done in two stages. First, this picture is imported into Shortcut and animated using the “size, position, rotation” filter, then the resulting video is exported. Then this video is connected to the project using the “mask from file” filter. In After Effects, this can be done in one stage without exporting.
Can you help me with this question?
@nadoelologinpodbira I know next to nothing about codecs, video formats and all that kind of things. I don’t understand your question so, no, I can’t help you with that.
I didn’t know anything about it either until I started reading the threads here. 10 and 8 bits are color depth or you could also say precision. 10 bits is when a fraction is recorded with high precision, respectively 8 bits is when a whole number is recorded. I won’t see the difference on my monitor in any case, but they might notice it on good monitors. That’s why I want to know how to view video characteristics. I have “mediainfo” installed, but I didn’t find such an option there.
J’ai pu reproduire, cela fonctionne bien, mais il faut une image masque par image.
Dans mon cas j’ai 13 images, il m’a fallu dessiner 13 masques. C’est assez fastidieux, j’ai mis plus de 10 mn
I’ve been able to reproduce it, and it works well, but you need one mask image per frame.
In my case, I have 13 images, so I had to draw 13 masks. It’s quite tedious, and took me more than 10 min.
