This is a really basic suggestion, but I never find myself using the “fade with black” option when adding a fade filter to my videos, so I don’t know why it’s the default option. I know it’s literally one click but I also think it would be really easy to fix. Thank you!
I guess it depends on how you add a fade-in or fade-out.
If you add it from the Filters panel, it will not be set to Adjust opacity instead of fade with black
But if you double-click on the pulsating dot on the top left or right corner of a clip the fade will be set to Adjust opacity instead of fade with black
Not sure why there is this difference between the two ways of adding a fade-in, fade-out
Setup your fade in as your like and save it as a set

If you do a fade in or out on V1, the only way it will work is when fading to/from black. Opacity (on V1) does nothing because V1 is not being blended with anything.
