Mac OS 27, Shotcut 26.9.27, and Qt 6.8.3. Font selection not working

You must use the English language in a bug report. If you do not speak English please use a translation service instead of trying your best to write English. Thank you

  • What is your operating system? Mac OS 27

(If you are using Linux, you must state how you installed Shotcut as there are too many builds and packages. In general, we do not make the build installed by your distribution package manager unless it installs the Snap. The developers only build, test, run, and support the builds shown on our download page.)

  • What is your Shotcut version (see Help > About Shotcut)? Version 26.9.27

  • Can you repeat the problem? If so, what are the steps? In subtitle, click on the A and try to select a different font, Font selection window pops up, after selecting a different font, nothing happens.

(Please be specific and use the names as seen in Shotcut, preferably English. Include a screenshot or screen recording if you can. Also, you can attach logs from either View > Application Log or right-click a job and choose View Log.)

I reproduce it. It is too bad that macOS had to change their font dialog in such a manner that one needs to click the little close-window circle button in the top corner of the window. That is a stupid user experience IMO. People expect buttons like OK and Cancel here. I will probably need to simply force the usage of the Qt-based non-native font dialog here.

This is fixed for the next version TBD, maybe 26.10. But you can also get the fix now:

I also updated the download link to this version.
