Losing audio after cutting out a section of the video clip

What is your operating system?
Windows 11 Home
Version 22H2
OS build|22621.1848|

What is your Shotcut version (see Help > About Shotcut)?
23.06.14

Can you repeat the problem? If so, what are the steps?
(Please be specific and use the names as seen in Shotcut, preferably English. Include a screenshot or screen recording if you can. Also, you can attach logs from either View > Application Log or right-click a job and choose View Log.)

(S)plit a video clip, then delete(X) a part of the clip.
Continue playing the video clip by hitting space bar.
Audio in the next section of the clip does not play.
Stop playback. Start playback. Audio plays again.

It doesn’t happen every time so of course, while I’m entering this report, I can’t reproduce it.
When this happens again, I will upload the application logs and a screenshot.

I do not reproduce this. It sounds like Shotcut might be having a problem seeking in this source file. Is it transport stream format or variable frame rate? You can try using Properties > Convert on it.

I’ve been editing most of the afternoon and have not been able to reproduce the problem.
This also happened with the previous version of Shotcut.

Prior to this I upgraded to 23.06.14.
This morning, the issue reappeared.

This is the application log from the time it happened. I would have posted more of the log but the forum gave me an error.

I advise you to transcode all video and audio material into a format friendly to this editor before the editing process. I do this all the time and very rarely experience breakdowns.

All my video clips are .mp4 or sometimes .mkv.
Are these not supported formats?
