Lock a "Mask: Simple Shape" filter to "Size Position Rotate" Filter

This is a big bug-bear of mine and I hope it’s just my poor knowledge of the product and it has been addressed years ago.

It should be obvious from the title, but when I add a video to my timeline, then set a “Size Position Rotate” filter to it and then a “Mask: Simple Shape” filter to it, if I want to move the clip on my canvas, I lose it unless I move the Mask as well.

I am NOT looking for workarounds for this: I use them and have done so for years. I simply want to know if there is already a function in Shotcut to lock or group these two filters together so that when I move one, it also moves the other.

If this doesn’t already exist, it would be nice to have it!

Many thanks!

Hi @BeretGascon

I don’t know if you’ll consider this a workaround, but what I do is simply add a second SP&R filter below the other 2 filters.

I knew if I didn’t ask for a workaround, somebody would would work around it!

Thank you so much MB, that was precisely what I was looking for!

That second Size, Position & Rotate filter is a handy way to keep the original mask and framing adjustments in place while moving the result around. Nice that it solved this without having to keep nudging the mask separately. A small example of this exact filter order in the documentation would probably save other people the same search for a grouping button.
